HISTORY OF COMPLEMENTS TWO
Seeking a way back into the world of fashion, Housewife Marsha Srednick made the decision to start her own business. In 1977 she took her retail training, showroom background and husband’s business contacts to open up Clothes Patch, a junior’s clothing boutique.

When Srednick opened Clothes Patch the frenzy for designer jeans was just beginning. “Designer jeans were what caused an uproar so that’s what we started selling.” Srednick also provided her customers with t-shirts, dresses, and accessories that appealed not only to teenage girls but their moms as well. Business was booming, and as the store grew so did the age of her customers. Srednick knew it was time for a change.

In an effort to maintain their customers without compromising their hip appeal, Clothes Patch decided to offer more adult-friendly options. “Our customer base was growing up, so we grew with them,” says Owner Marsha Srednick. Maintaining their trendy style, Clothes Patch decided to offer the same stylish garments tailored to their more sophisticated clientele. By bringing in more urbane options and changing the name from “Clothes Patch” to “Complements Two”, the store widened their target audience to incorporate the needs of trendy women in their 20s as well as chic women in their 70s.

Today, Complements Two is a fashionable clothing and accessory store for contemporary women. Located at 155 South Livingston Avenue in Livingston, NJ, Complements Two is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
